My editing experiment process

Firstly, I created a new project and new sequence along with bins to categorise my input as I had been instructed on LinkedIn Learning. I also found pressing the "~" key to open the full screen much easier to hover and deal with any adjustment.

I renamed my new sequence, placed it into the "_Sequence" bin as its name helped send it to the top for easy control and had all of the footage in the timeline. I chose to directly import videos when first creating a new project instead of importing them from Media Browser so that I had a chance to mark in and mark out then pressed the"'" key to delete unwanted frames without leaving gaps. Next time, I will create an empty project to try importing and preparing footage in Source Monitor before dragging them to a timeline and creating a new sequence. I felt excited that I could apply different methods leading to one expected result.

Continued dragging, dropping, extracting and trimming, I found every single way to use the tools and keyboard shortcuts magically out of this world as I could try again and again to figure out the most efficient approach for each case and demand of editing. My favourite shortcut up to now is cmd+drag since I can change the position of one video clip in the timeline without overwriting the others or leaving a gap.

Until the end, I combined waves-riding scenes of all the water sports stars (that I had filmed) to create a climax, followed by the movements of nature and the surrounding landscape as the waves passed by. I think the footage has been really impressive for me both before and after editing. I was immersed in natural motion and the performances so it became my inspiration to keep engaging in editing. I'm more than satisfied with my initial experiment on Premiere Pro as it helps me increase the thrilling experience through footage. The next thing I'm going to deal with is to make my footage much smoother and express strong emotions through moments in the video as it would be seen in real life.
