Incredibly bizarre spots in RMIT City Campus

Week 1 - Session 1

We had a scavenger hunt checklist which completely appealed to us from the very first item called 'An explosive cup of coffee'. Can't wait to figure them out and this is how we intensely started our 30-min journey!

01. The disembodied hands of a great ape

This could be considered to be the most obvious existence as we suddenly recognised them displayed in the middle of the path while still getting lost in the confusion with other items such as roots, net string or even a black box.

02. A door for the condemned

While my teammate was explaining the definition of 'condemned' for me, our steps around the area fortunately stopped right in front of this huge gate. I hadn't had any ideas of 'condemned' until I got to see its appearance.

I have also been acknowledged before that this place is called the gaol.

It finally made sense!

03. A curtain of roots, delivered by a winged visitor

We stepped into the courtyard behind the gate for more discovery as I was sure there would be a mysterious tree with the massive roots managing to escape the wall here. Breathing a sigh of relief, we believed it's exactly a curtain of roots as we were expecting to see.

04. A wide net strung above, bulging under the weight of its flying paper cargo

Nothing else could be more suitable for what we were looking for than this colourful flying paper strung beside the view from our campus's library.

05. A book containing Digital Media wisdom, found amongst many

It is definitely a giant treasure chest of wisdom when you're getting lost into the great library. We found the location for some Graphic books shelves and here are some results after a quick search. Wish they could relate...

06. A basement-dwelling Black Box, bigger than you might think

Found a black box in the library instead of the basement but whenever it's a black-box, we all accepted ! However, there was another one, much more appropriate since it looked that mysterious in a extremely dark place.

07. A study space fit for a Sith Lord

I honestly have no idea anything about Star Wars. Took a quick research about Sith Lord and we finally made it to a unique study space. It seems like a secret sanctuary straight out of a sci-fi movie.

08. A wide machine, dispensing beverages from a far away land

Flying turtle... It certainly took that calm turtle a long time to travel so far away managing to bring us a variety of beverages right here! This magical machine serves both coffee and some interesting concoctions.

09. A golden globe atop a tower of eights

We even walked upstairs to the eighth-floor but found nothing related a globe in the terrace. However, we got it when we looked up from the campus yard, along with some shining golden globes which were much brighter in the dark passage.

10. An explosive cup of coffee

Eventually, we still got blocked with the imagination about the impressive explosive-cup-of-coffee although it has been what we made an attempt to head for at the very first start. So here is what we forced ourselves to reflect upon it as an exceptionally beautiful cup of coffee.

I know what it actually is but there was only 2 minutes left. Frankly, it is mysterious in some ways, isn't it? As it could explode with something from the inside anytime. Although it may seem strange, it reminded me there is an existence of the camera lens coffee mug. In case you want to make your life experience much more interesting!
